Stephen Solley of Solley’s Farms really enjoyed the Technogel Tour last September. “I had been worried about the huge increase in demand for our 125ml and 500ml pots as our old filler just couldn’t cope”, he said whilst in Italy.
Stephen had been over to Technogel before and had earmarked them as a potential equipment supplier, but it wasn’t until he looked closer and realised just how good the rotary fillers were and the decision to buy was made.
“Guided by Steve Henshall, we looked at the rotary 4000 filler which is very simple to operate and maintain”, explained Stephen.
“Then we saw a small linear machine for bulk containers and I had to have that too!”
With the special prices just for tour delegates, interest free finance and delayed delivery, the deal was soon concluded and in May, Stephen received his two fillers.
“They couldn’t have come at a better time – our order book is bursting at the seams”, enthused Stephen.
A commissioning engineer came over from Technogel and quickly had both machines up and running, producing just under 4,000 pieces per hour from the rotary filler and around 1,200 pieces per hour from the bulk filler.
A ripple pump will be the next addition to add extra value to Solley’s Ice Cream.
“Alfred’s and Technogel have done us proud”, said Stephen. “I installed a two-tank Minimix pasteurisation plant last year and the way things are going, more investment will be needed to keep up”.
