After introducing new Technogel equipment in 2014, Michael Luca, Director at S Luca Dairy Ice Cream of Musselburgh was able to significantly increase production.
However, he quickly found that the new bottleneck, created by his pasteurisation plant, was showing distinctive signs of ageing. He needed a quick and practical solution.
Following a discussion with Steve Henshall, Sales Manager of Alfred & Co, it was clear that a 600 litre Alfred’s Minimix Plant was the way forward for Michael. This compact and efficient plant is built to fit client’s requirements exactly.
Alfred and Co utilised local tradesmen to reduce the cost of installation for S Luca, with the final installation taking two days with commissioning on day three.
“Not only does this plant take up half the space of our old set-up but it’s two and a half times quicker being able to boil 600 litres of mix in around one hour. The addition of a 600 litre ageing vat has seen the bottleneck removed completely”, Michael Luca, Director at S Luca Dairy Ice Cream commented.
